Circus School
Our circus classes are open to children, teens, and adults who are curious about circus arts and want to build their strength, coordination, balance and circus skills.
In your studies, you’ll explore a wide range of circus disciplines and techniques. Classes include solo, pair, and group acrobatics; aerial acrobatics such as aerial silks, rope, trapeze, aerial hoop, and cloud swing, hand balancing, juggling, unicycling, balance ball and Cyr wheel.
As you progress, you’ll have the chance to focus more deeply on the skills or disciplines that interest you most. You’ll also develop important teamwork and collaboration skills, learn about the history of circus and the world of contemporary circus, and take part in performance projects. Every year, students create their own group or solo piece to present.
Our circus education follows the Advanced Syllabus of Basic Education in the Arts, with 30 weeks of instruction per school year (14 in the autumn term and 16 in the spring). Classes are 60 to 90 minutes long, 1–5 times per week, depending on your level. The full advanced syllabus includes 1,300 hours of study: 800 hours of basic studies and 500 hours of advanced studies. One lesson hour is 45 minutes.
In addition to weekly classes, we offer intensive courses, workshops, and holiday camps for all ages.
You can also complement your circus studies with optional classes in five other art subjects taught at our school.
